Oh, Brown Betty!

You can't go wrong with an old-fashioned crumble. Everyone loves it, they taste delicious and they are shockingly easy to make! Here's a great classic crumble recipe I love making as the seasons transition from summer to fall.

Blackberry Peach Crumble

6 cups of fresh or frozen berries, any combination you wish
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom

For the Topping:

3/4 cup flour
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup old-fashioned oats
1 stick cold salted butter, cut into small cubes

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

In a medium bowl, toss the berries with the sugar, flour and spices. Pour into your cast iron skillet.

Mix the topping ingredients, can do this in a food processor.  Pour the topping over the berries.

Bake for one hour or until the filling bubbles and topping is golden brown.

Let cool for 5 minutes then top with fresh vanilla ice cream.
